Well, a lot depends on what you want to do with them _and_ the file format
in which they are stored. In regard to the file format, while you may link
documents created in other programs (word processors, spreadsheet, etc.)
using the OLE [Object Linking & Embedding) feature, it is usually better to
use just plain text (unformatted) from a text editor such as the TMG text
editor or the Windows NOTEPAD program.

I have many documents that I have transcribed into text Exhibits. Most of
these are ones that I do not wish to print, but to have handy for research
use. In some few cases, I may include an excerpt from the document/Exhibit
in the related tag usually in the Tag Memo. For example, my 3G-GF's will
has some unusual phrasing, so I include that as a quote in the Will Tag
Memo along with some added text to make the Tag Sentence read correctly. I
also have the full transcription in a Text Exhibit. In another case, I
have an anecdote about a person entered in full in an Anecdote Tag Memo.

Most of my Exhibits will not be printed in narrative reports -- at least
not in the narrative itself. I may wish to print them in the footnotes,
endnotes, and.or in appendices. Usually this last means some cutting and
pasting in my word processor after I generate the report as there is no
provision for appendices in TMG.

Hope this helps -
