Lee,
I don't know about that. I have many exhibits with long file
name that TMG4 will accept by converting to a "6 character plus ~1"
standard 8.3 DOS format file name (eg. "NEW YORK CITY's SKYLINE.jpg"
becomes simply "NEWYOR~1.jpg"). Other "NEW YORK anything.jpg" names take
on the ~2, ~3, etc. However, NONE of my file names with an apostrophe
within the first 6 characters will work, eg "Lee's.jpg" is invalid but
"Lee Hoffman's.jpg" becomes LEEHOF~1.jpg" which DOES work. Maybe this is
a function of whether the *user* is on an 8- or 16-bit system vs a 32-bit
system!? Since TMG5 will take the long file names, I am hoping that it
will also take the apostrophe.
