Yes, Bob, it does help, and many thanks (but shouldn't you be enjoying a
day's holiday?).

So a List of Events report along the lines of "Date Comes Before 1791
AND Date Is Not Empty" avoids the undated tags. I think you're implying
that I then have to manually run through the people identified in that
report - some of whom could be listed several times (unless I process
the list to remove duplicates). Okay. You don't have a trick way of
creating a Picklist or setting a person-flag based on an imported list
of IDs, do you? :-7 Or how about inventing event-flags, settable from
an LoE report?

The Help file documents the undated tag issue thus: "In addition, an
undated tag is sorted "Not Greater Than" everything else" (the Define
Filter page). It was obviously a design decision to include undated
tags in a numerical sort list at all. Did that have to be the case?
