Patt,

This will require some deciding since the ultimate report cannot show both.
The stepmother's extended family was not as close as the natural mother's
even though the natural mother died before my mother was two.

As I think back I can see a reason for this. On the stepmother's side, an
aunt and uncle were unmarried with no children, hence no cousins, etc. On
the natural side their extended families were pretty large and communicated
a lot.
