Actually, there is not a "standard" Source Category called "Personal
Knowledge." I suspect that Joe has created a Custom Source Category named
this (as I did). Terry iterated how he created a similar Custom Source
Category called "Conclusion". Mine is called "Personal Knowledge" based on
the Interview Source Category and has the following Templates:
--Full Footnote-
Personal knowledge of [INFORMANT] ([INFORMANT ADDRESS]). <. [COMMENTS]><,
[CD]>.
--Short Footnote-
Personal knowledge of [INFORMANT]<, [CD]>.
--Bibliography-
[INFORMANT], Personal knowledge.[INFORMANT ADDRESS].
Another user has four different Custom Source Categories called
"Assumption-0", "Assumption-1", "Assumption-2", "Assumption-3". The usage
would be based on the user's feeling about the reliability (Surety) of the
assumption. The various templates are similar with differing
wording: zero assumption being a "wild guess" with no real support, the
Assumption-1 being one having some credence requiring more work/research,
the #2 would be one based on secondary evidence, and the last would be
based on primary evidence.
Hope this helps -
