I think a better representation of of what Bob said is more like:
"However, Bob V. has made it clear that TMG Witness data
will not be exported via GEDCOM."
That is, TMG will export Principals (they are also witnesses (but not
Witnesses). He also made it clear that is the user entered his data (the
witnesses) in a number of other ways than as Witnesses, that data would be
exported via GEDCOM. The difference here is the field in which witnesses
are entered: (1) as Principals (exportable via GEDCOM), (2) in the Witness
field (not exportable via GEDCOM), or (3) naming witnesses as text in a
Memo (or other text) field (exportable via GEDCOM). Note there is a
subtle difference in how I used the word "witness" above - whether the word
is capitalized or not. The capitalized use refers to a TMG field while the
un-capitalized word includes all persons associated with an event (tag) and
in some way connected to it.
