Today I found my parents, with me, age two, in the 1930 Census for
Towaco, Montville Twp, Morris County, NJ. Sort of exciting! Before going to
NARA I looked up the Enumeration District descriptions and roll numbers on
the 1930 census part of www.nara.gov, and I used various maps, including one
on the Morris County site of USGENWEB, to place Towaco in its right
township. With that information it was fairly easy. This is a census for
which homework helps especially, unless you are researching people who lived
in certain southern states. It's harder to research people who lived in
larger towns or cities, but NARA has finding aids that help there.
Just thought I would share my delight.
