Subject: [TMG] Cust.Marriage sentence in children list-Desc. Rept.
Date: Tue, 2 Apr 2002 02:21:01 -0500

I haven't used the Descendant journal report extensively so I haven't
noticed this before.

For multiple marriages I modify the marriage sentence to read "Talcott
Winchell m. (1) so and so and m. (2) so and so" by modifying the roles
sentence for the groom. In the first generation, Talcott Winchell is
shown in the children list but the marriage designation of (1) and (2)
are missing:

Children of Eli Winchell and Abigail Phelps were as follows:
Talcott... m. Abbie Spelman; m. Maria T. Taylor

In the next generation, where the family of Talcott Winchell is shown,
the sentence reads correctly:

Talcott Winchell.... m. (1), Abbie Spelman; m. (2), Maria T. Taylor.

Question:
Why isn't the custom marriage sentence shown when Talcott is shown in
the children list?

**or**

Can I eliminate the spouses in the children list as the information is
shown in the family listing for Talcott in the next generation?

Thanks,
Norb
