I do use UFT, but I don't use Windows XP, so I don't know if I can be much
help. Here are a couple of thoughts, however.

In the past UFT had problems on startup with "fast" computers. There was a
free download that solved the problem. Also, if on getting the error, she
has a choice to "ignore" she should try that as the error may only be in
loading the splash screen.

The other thought is that if she is not using the last version of UFT (ver
3.1), then she should upgrade if at all possible.
