Thanks for your replies. Think my problem is I'm dense and don't understand
History tags and therefore I'm trying to use them inappropriately. For
research purposes (not necessarily for shared printed reports), I want to
tie together a group of people who are connected to a specific military
unit, religious group or specific church, plantation chain of ownership,
etc.
Since Tony mentioned these tags don't export to NEW data set and sources
will be renumbered, then that would be something I sure don't want to
happen. Want to keep my source numbers in tact.
Back to the drawing board. Had hoped this tag would be the answer. I know
many users have created "non-person" tags but I was trying to find another
way to accomplish the same thing. Like reinventing the wheel. <G>

: Be aware that history tags don't export if you export your data set to a
: new data set. If you have unique sources for your history tags, then
: following an export to a new data set, your sources will be renumbered.
