Hmmm..... I hadn't heard about any incompatibility between NAV 2000/2001
and Eudora 5. Can't find a thing about it in their knowledge base and
haven't noticed it mentioned on the Eudora newsgroup - however, veryyyy
easy to miss articles/messages in both :
news:comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&group=comp.mail.eudora.ms-windows
I have seen messages posted on the news list from people having problems in
general with NAV; however, these problems tend to effect both Eudora
***and*** the MS Outlook E-mail programs. I'm using Eudora 4.3.2 and NAV
2001/Norton System Works 2001. I have let to have any incompatibility
problems between NAV and Eudora or with the MS Outlook programs. I haven't
bother updating to Version 5.* because the only real difference between the
2 appears to be that 5 is geared towards or better compatible for Windows
XP. As I'm running under Windows 98, I see no need for version 5.**
I do know there may be a Eudora installation problem if running NAV
auto-protect - all files selected. Some sort of error may appear as may
appear when installing **any** program via a CD with auto-protect all files
is selected:
http://www.eudora.com/techsupport/kb/1913hq.html
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;q192890
However, most programs of any size want you to turn off all programs during
the installing process
I'm interested, where did you see this incompatibility between NAV and
Eudora 5? I'd like to read about it for it seems idiotic for Eudora to come
out with a version incompatible with probably the most used Anti-virus
software in the world.
TIA.
