Like you, I have many tags (mainly Name-Marr tags but also others)
with no date and a sort date in my TMG4 data set and in that same data
set in a project after import into TMG5. I have run Validate File
Integrity on this TMG5 project dozens of times. All of the tags having
no date and a sort date still have their sort date.

As far as I'm aware, this situation ONLY affects data entered via the
keyboard in TMG5.
