I think my question is -- if you consider something hearsay, do you enter
the date/place at all?

I know I oft times encounter some entry in my TMG where I have given no
source. Funny -- I was sure I would remember the source. <g> The way I
try to approach this is -- if I am going to enter some date or place, then
I need to record where I got the info -- even if it were on the bathroom
wall. Sometimes I have put a questionable source in the memo, in
{ }. At least it tells me where I came up with the data. For example,
just last week my husband told me his aunt was from Oklahoma. I told him I
didn't know that and didn't think I had that. Went to TMG and, sure nuff,
I had she was born in Iowa. My source? A family group sheet filled out by
said aunt. But -- if I did not have that FGS, her birth place would have
been Oklahoma -- and the source would have been my husband. Least I would
know who to blame. <g>
