Oh the holes we dig :-((

Many years ago I created a RELATED_BY flag with values i.a. of M for marriage and S for self.
Last week I felt the need to "refine" those values - I defined S for spouse and changed to I for self.
I did not go thru and convert all Ms to Ss as there is dirt in the data and I will do that next week.
Meanwhile, the 2 uses of S remained in the data.
This could have been prevented at Add time surely (WARNING - that value already exists!).

When I converted the self S to an I, the correct relationship accent finally displayed (the one in Preferences/Current Project Options/Colors/Names).

However, the flag value of I does NOT appear in the Accent Definition - which surely is not correct.
And in the Flag Manager there is no longer a description for M - even though M exists thruout the data??

Maybe some ignorance on my part, maybe some bugs...

Anyway, many thanks to Astrid, Lee and others for their time.

Martyn.

Hi Martyn,

I'll give it a try:

From what I see, the Relation tag is accented by the accent of the person
you've chosen in Preferences.
For example, with an extensive accent file, I am accented Red text on light
Blue background, while my husband is Blue text on light Red background.

If I set Preferences to calculate relationships to me, the Relation tag is
Red on light Blue.
If I change it to calculate relationships to my husband, the tag is Blue on
light Red.

Yours looks as if you have set Preferences to calculate relationships to
your spouse rather than yourself?!

If that's not it, I'm out of ideas, sorry.

accent. However, it seems to have acquired one - and a misleading one at
that.
