With databasing the basic Plug and play would be easy, like: Birth: 2 jul
1998 or Baptized 1784, but when you input variable sentencing into the
narrative reports, everything needs a lot more work to get right. and debug

Hi Pam,
the more replies the better.

I can't remember what the original download page looked like. But now it
clearly says '.. reports not available...' etc. As TMG isn't yet available
on CD, you must have gone to the web page to downloaded it. Also, after
finding the reports options 'grayed out', you had 30 days to return it, for
a full refund. So knowing all that, you decided to keep TMGv5 (a wise choice
<g>..)

After importing your data to v5, you must have (should have?) checked out
all it's features to make sure it met your needs. As you've successfully
imported your data into TMG once, you could have stayed using your original
program, until TMG's published features met your requirements....

All that said, I'm sure TMG will include the reports as soon as is
possible. I haven't a clue how hard it will be to actually do that. I guess
it must be quite complicated, otherwise other genealogy programs like FTW
would have the same reporting flexibility that TMG does. I'm sure if TMG
wanted to, they could produce a set of simple canned reports like those
included with FTW, but I'd rather wait for the reporting flexibility of
TMGv4.0 (added to TMGv5)

TIA

Bill

ps - if I've missed some of your points I apologies, but sometimes my eyes
skip entire paragraphs as I rush to hit the send (or is that the download..)
button.

If I might reply to Bill, when I purchased my TMG 5.2, I was not told by
the sales person the reports weren't available and I did not read the
message you are referring to. If I had read that, I probably would have
waited for the reports to be available then moved all my data to 5.2.
I do love my 5.2, however printing was important to me because I was
trying to share my data with a professional researcher who was going to do
further research for me.
