The manual recognizes that this is a higher standard than any other
discipline requires. I happen to agree with it, considering the
proliferation of "inadvertant" errors in genealogy -- "inadvertant"
meaning in many cases "never bothered to check". Professional standards
require, and should require, responsible and careful research, so that
nothing is published unless it meets the requirements of genealogical
proof. I sure wish I could find that book: I consider it a very
valuable resource, been looking all morning for it.

genealogy because we do make mistakes. As a matter of fact, I can't
