regarding genealogical standards ...

The idea is not to never make mistakes. It is rather to use diligence in researching things carefully before publishing. The standard was developed to exclude those who would publish without checking. And in the case of certified professionals to be sure that the other standards of genealogical proof were not neglected. Of course there will be mistakes and wrong conclusions -- it goes with the territory. But anyone who publishes without doing his or her homework is not worthy of certification.
