Subject: Re: [TMG] Memory Recommended for TMG 5

I have 128M of RAM on a Toshiba Tecra 8100 laptop with PIII. I also have 512M
on a desktop with an AMD 1.1G processor. The laptop has other ancillary
programs but is used almost exclusively for TMG. (ver. 4 in use and ver. 5
aboard and waiting) With a 12,000 person database, I can hardly tell the
difference in speed between the two in the small amount of playing around I
have done with TMG 5.03. I am definately not a computer expert, my knowledge
is barely adequate for my needs (as with most things) but I am of the opinion
that a lot of the problems people have with computer speed is the number of
programs they have resident in Startup. Keep it lean and mean (The Marine
Corps way). Remove anything you don't use on a daily or weekly basis from the
startup menu and it won't tie up as much RAM. Or so I have been told and it
seems to help. OMO
