Since alot of potential TMG buyers aren't on this list, and will go first to
the Wholly Genes website for information about the program, the "bare
minimums" should be more realistic and/or up to date than what I found in
combing the website last week.
The only reference I found to system requirements was dated September 2001,
obviously not applicable to TMG 5.0, but I don't think I even ran TMG 1.2
six years ago on this setup,.and certainly not 4.0!

"The Master Genealogist requires an IBM compatible PC (386 required, 486
recommended); Windows 3.x, Windows 95/98/NT; 8 MB memory (16 MB
recommended); hard drive; mouse or pointing device; and VGA or higher
resolution monitor. Optionally supports Windows-compatible printer;
Twain-compatible scanner; and Sound Blaster or compatible sound card."

It is probably more appropriate for me to address comments regarding the
website to WG than to the list, which I will follow through with.

Your idea of a stripped down machine is great! By the time I finish taking
off all I dare of the garbage the manufacturers put in, that's essentially
what I'm running---TMG, Word, a browser, and an anti-virus program! It
helps.
