In addition to the other responses, the use of a different name tag also
puts the name variation in the picklist so, if you run across it somewhere
else, you can fine the person in TMG. If it is buried in a memo somewhere
you may not find it as easy.

the original spelling in the citation details of every source, so I can
always go back and refer to that if for some reason I have to re-evaluate my
evidence. Making a variant name tag too would be redundant.
