spouses and spouses' parents. But no info about the siblings' children,
which I would like.

the report to include this, I would at least like the report to say the
number of children that the sibling had (e.g. something like "Harriet and
Augustus had 9 children").

There is a standard Number of Children tag which would serve this purpose
perfectly.

the sibling's marriage tag? (adding a memo has the problem that the memo
will show up in other reports which are not an ancestor report -- so such a
report might have a list of children from the memo, and then list the
children again anyway!)

The memo in the Number of Children tag is there to state the number of
children. All you have to do is add <[M2]> to the tag sentence and include
that information--names and dates--in the memo after a set of delimiters.
And that's one way of doing it--the minimal way. I've seen genealogy reports
with a fuller biography of the children of siblings--the nieces and
nephews--then what reasonably can be contained in a Number of Children tag.
But it's not in TMG.
Do you want a genealogy report that includes their full biography? You
can't get it using an Ancestor report, not without a lot of work with custom
tags. But you could a create a temporary dataset containing yourself, your
ancestors, and three generations of descendants, with all their spouses.
This should include everybody you want. Then make certain you include all
the Witnesses, so that those witnessed tag sentences read correctly.<g>
Create a Descendant Journal Report. What was known in UFT as the Family
Report, aka the All-in-One Report. It's a Descendancy Report of each and
every one of your ancestors carried down to where the line merges into a
previously reported line. It's also a custom report, so don't look for it
among the predefined reports. Assign to each of your end-of-line ancestors
a whole number--100, 200, 300, 400, etc.--starting with the top of your
pedigree and working down. If you have a married couple and the female is
without parents, skip the female ancestor. She should show up as the wife
of your ancestor. Put the numbers in the Reference field. Then run a
Descendant Journal Report, according to the settings you desire, and sorted
to print the ancestors in that order. If I've forgotten one of the steps
I'm sure we're hear about it.<vbg>
