Hi, Eric ... I strongly agree that "before 1800" and "before 1 Jan 1800"
are NOT equivalent. What I was referring to (in the broader context of
the discussion) was how did TMG v. UFT sort those dates. Both *SORT*
dates end up being ... in UFT ... "12/31/1799". Given that limitation,
the *SORT* dates are equal (not the dates themselves). It's a UFT
limitation; nothing more. Based on it's own limitations, it's sorting
as expected.
