Teresa,
I have a LARGE number of obituaries in my database that were pasted inside
Bibles, etc., and I have not idea what paper or where they were published.
To accommodate this problem, I made the following changes to your obituary
plan. It seems to work for me and I thought others may have this problem.
Place Style: I made two changes, removing 'the' before [Newspaper] and
including printed in within the <> for [City]. This now requires that all
newspapers are entered in Label with 'the' proceeding the name. That doesn't
bother me, since it makes the other work.
<in [Newspaper]>< printed in [City], ><[County], ><[State], >
In the tag printed below, I entered 'an unidentified newspaper' in the
[Newspaper] field of the place, and nothing in any of the other fields.
Role: Deceased: I shortened the first sentence as below. I used [M2], not
sure why, but I always do.
[:CR:][:TAB:][R:Deceased]'s obituary was published <[D]><[L]>.<[R:Survivor]
were listed as survivors.><[R:Preceded in death] preceded [RM:Deased] in
death.> <[M2]>
The above printed as:
Ethel T. Robinson's obituary was published in an unidentified
newspaper. George W. Robinson, Mrs. Henry Frain and George R. Taylor were
listed as survivors.
The following is a transcription of that obituary: ROBINSON, Ethel
T. On Thursday, January 9, 1975, at Northern Virginia Doctors Hospital,
ETHEL T. ROBINSON, of Arlington, Va., beloved mother of George W. Robinson,
Arlington, Va.; sister of George R. Taylor, Arlington, Va., and grandmother
of Mrs. Henry H. Frain, Rockville, Md. Friends may call at The Arlington
Funeral Home, 2901 No. Fairfax dr., Arlington, Va., from 7 to 9 p.m.
Friday, January 10, where services will be held, on Saturday, January 11,
at 11 a.m. Interment Columbia Gardens.
Keep up the good work. These styles and tags are great. They really get me
thinking!
