Thank you Lee for your advice re Preferences and also re the witnesses.
I appreciate it.

The witnesses one is so obvious now that I feel a bit of a dope but I
was desperately looking for some explanation for my dilemma! Am still
struggling - as per previous message - with my import but have emailed
support at WG.

There is no categorising of people in my Generations file (or in
Generations) that would account for the failure to import 75% of them.
No cards are marked, no people are distinguished in any way as far as I
can ascertain. Have been trying all day to do this and am slowly going
crazy. Elizabeth, who also had Generations 8 (but not the UK version)
says she had no trouble at all importing to TMG so there must be
something in my files or procedure that is making it fail.

Thanks once again for your advice
