Jeff,
As someone who's about as far south as you can get in England, I must
protest at this calumny! I first visited Bamburgh, Alnwick, Lindisfarne etc
as long ago as 1976 and have continued to go "up North" whenever time and
funds permit.
And you are not biased when you describe the Northumberland coastline as one
of the most beautiful in the world - you are right!
