The only real advantage to the CRW Log is if the user wants to generate
multiple reports (either using the same report configuration or different
ones or some combination). The CRW Log allowed the CRW program to remain
in memory which nowadays is somewhat insignificant due to faster computers
as well as a faster program. In v4x, I did not use the CRW Log very much
although I did use it a few times -- more out of convenience than anything
else. By convenience, I mean that I wanted to run multiple reports using
the same report configuration entering different "search" values for
each. Whether selecting the report from the Toolbar or from the report
menu, running the same report multiple times was inconvenient. But
opening the CRW Log, running the report multiple times and exiting the CRW
Log was much more convenient.
