In general HP black and white laser printers are less then three cents a
page and color laser printers are less then ten cents a page (5% coverage).
Ink jets are perhaps three to eight times that. Search google for '
printers "cost per page" ' I change the cartridge in my HP Laserjet 4000
only a third as often as I did in my Laserjet 4, so while the cartridge cost
more to total cost per page is less.
