I'm sorry - I know better! I'm using 5.05. I found your page re: Saving
Gedcom Export definitions and perhaps that, plus the help file, will get me
where I want to go. I've done it once (in 4.0d) so I should be able to do
it again!

I've decided that what I really want is vital records for 1) direct
ancestors/spouses; 2) all descendants of each couple (as above); plus 3) land
records; 4) (possibly) wills. This should be enough to help in a library
determining if I'm looking at the correct John Wathen (out of several).

I'll be very interested, too, in anyone's opinion on what to put in a Palm.

And yes, My Roots does use Gedcom exclusively -- it has its own conversion
program. I remember reading about a program that is in the works that will
take TMG as is - does anyone remember which one that is?

Thank you very much, Terry -- I'll be back if I can't get this to work in the
bright hours of day.
