A full backup of my system, with compression, takes 20 CD-Rs,
(hence my tendency to only do 1 or 2 a year). Incrementals I tend to do
monthly, and they can run up to 3 CD-Rs on a bad month (after lots of
installs).
And since a CD drive only gets the rated speed on the outer edge
of the disk, and they write from the center outwards, the typical speed is
about half the rated...
