Have you heard about electro-magnetic pulse? A nuclear weapon produces an
EMP of such magnitude that just about any transistorized device not damaged
by the blast or firestorm will be rendered useless - for many many miles
around. So much for that "have battery-operated radios handy" bit.
So you need to EMP-shield your concrete box.
