<That's an idea I hadn't thought of, Ron. I did call the IRAD for Rock
Island <County as was suggested by someone else and learned that they don't
have the <information there so they weren't able to help. However, the
gentleman did say <that he thought I wouldn't be able to get much more
information than what I did as <they didn't require very much information on
the applications during that time <period. I think I will just wait until we
go back to IA again in about 6 weeks and <just stop at the County Clerk's
office myself. If I don't get any cooperation at <least in looking at the
application, I may just try using your 'argument'.

Barbara,

Some years ago I ordered several marriage records from Adams and Hancock
Counties, IL and ask for the applications in addition to the licenses. I
received two very interesting applications -- one included a copy of a note
from the bride's mother asking that her daughter be granted a license to
marry. A few years ago another researcher ask for the application for this
same marriage and was told that all those old records were in storage and
"the old ones never gave information on the parents."

Good luck
