Do not use the GEDCOM file. The way to import FTM data is to click on "File
> Import", select either "Simple Wizard" or "Advanced Wizard" and click on
the "Next" button. On the next screen, select "Family Tree Maker (*.FTW)" or
"Family Tree Maker Backup (*.FBK)", locate your Family Tree Maker File and
place it in the "File to Import" box and click on the "Next" button again.
Follow the rest of the directions.

The Family Tree Maker file will not be changed in any way so you can remove
the TMG file over and over again until you get the options you like best.

I would suggest that you start the first time with the "Simple" option and
then play with the various options available with the "Advanced" options.

> Hi. Can I put the GEDCOM file from family tree maker V. 9 onto TMG and
play with it then if it doesn't work delete it and start over. I have never
used a GEDCOM file. I have read in the archives but it doesn't say anything
about this. Thanks for help. Anita
