FWIW: Where you find these directives,e.g. "Inbox, Unsent Messages,
Drafts, Templates,
Sent, Trash," you can add a new folder, which I did and I named mine
'Salvage', and in it I
place items or mail I may want to see again. Then I can delete them as
no longer needed.
That makes a good storage place. Not necessarily every night but upon
occasion ( Set up your
own schedule) I look at the xxx(dot).tmp files and usually delete
'all'..As far as I know
they will not be deleted by simply shutting down at night. They will be
still there in the
morning. Find the .tmp files. Look in View. or in Edit. find 'all' and
then delete. Don't
look back. Clear up the useless files and keep your system running more
freely. That's
first. Second, go into Windows Explorer and scan down the files listed
until you find one
called 'Cookies'. Click on Cookies and delete all cookies, but leave
'Index'. It wont delete
anyay.. Just see how much used space you have saved, and you don't need
all those people
and companies 'looking at what you are doing' . Dont worry, they will be
back until you
again clean house.
I have been cleaning house like this for years. Lastly ,
get Norton Symantic
Virus protection., if nothing else. It may be OT, but FWIW. Jay Baker
