Walt,

It seems to me to work better doing this with a Related-by flag and
accents, unless I don't understand what you are trying to accomplish.

I have two related-by flags that show ancestors, siblings of
ancestors, more distant cousins, and related by marriage only. One is
for me, and the other is for my wife. Because of the several
different conditions (in addition to accents for a Cleaned flag and a
Connected flag) and the fact that my wife and I share some common
ancestors, I find it's best to have separate accent settings for each
of us. In TMG5 I have a pair of toolbar buttons that lets me switch
between the two sets instantly.

By using flags and Accents I can see the relationship not only for
the focus person, as you would with a Relationship tag, but also for
everyone in the Children and Sibling windows, and in the Picklist and
Project Explorer. While this isn't as exact as a relationship tag, I
find four "related-by" conditions tell me what I want to know about
how much effort to put a particular person. But one could add several
more levels if desired.
