First, here's what happened in UFT: I attached sources to all events possible; many of them came from the same book. At some point, I sent a Family Journal to Word and found I had 32 pages of sources (lots & lots of Ibids!).

I think that you must have entered the Vol and Page Number in the UFT
equivalent of the Citation Detail

The same thing will happen if you enter the citation as above. However
TMG has Unique Citation feature which will reduce the number of
citations. How much depends on how you do the citations. The feature
will be available when narrative reports can be sent to a word
processor.

If the majority of your people and citations are from the two volume
work, I would either (1) not enter Volume and Page Number in the CD or
(2) at the most enter the Volume Number only.

In the first case you will get one unique citation and in the second
only 2.

Years ago I started entering the volume and page numbers for the printed
Gloucester MA Vital Records. However as the surnames are alphabetical
and I record the name as written in the books, I really don't need the
page numbers.

However there are references to Church, Cemetery and Private records in
the CD, so I do not wish to just ignore it. Deleting the page number
will mean going through many thousands of citations, just too much.
