Thanks so much, Terry. I don't like your answer <VBG>, but at least I
understand it. I was trying to use the age variable for the pre-1850 census
sentences so, of course, all I have is the year of enumeration. I was
hoping to output the person's actual age to compare with their enum. age.
When I change the sentences to AE, the "at an unknown age" is suppressed,
but I still don't get an age. From this, I gather the age variable only
works when both dates are precise. Bummer!!!

Does the tag with the age variable in the sentence structure have a
full, that is day month year, date? If not [A] will give the result
you describe. Try [AE] instead.
