Linda,
You should be able to find a month at least for the enumeration of each
census which would help calculate the age. I expect there is a chart out
there somewhere for all of them, but if you go to Ancestry's page:
http://www.familyhistory.com/index.asp#CENSUS and then click on each year
from that page it will give you the start dates of enumerations for each of
them. Would that help?
Personally, I include the age of enumeration in the memo field of the tag
instead, since many of them are different than the actual (or expected) age,
and this way I know that the data from the census is what is shown in the
tag.
