Just a few days ago, a function in Netscape stopped working. I closed
all open applications and ran scandisk. Opened Netscape and the
function still did not work. I then shut down my computer, waited 30
seconds for capacitors to discharge, and restarted my computer. After
restarting, I re-booted twice. When I opened Netscape, the function
worked just fine.
Years ago, an ex IBM engineer told me that he always reboot three
times after installing a new application. He stated that twice should
be enough but added a third time for good measure. I have extended his
re-boot idea to when I have strange problems and it sometimes does the
job. More often then not, it does not help but, it is such a simple
procedure, I use it at the first sign of trouble.
