Walt,
Yes, but MAKE A GOOD BACKUP FIRST.
Then you can have it move the II from the Surname field to the Suffix
field. I did a lot with changing names when the last utility came out.
Just be sure to have a good backup in case you don't like the results
and try everything in LOG mode first.
USE CHANGE NAME PARTS
IF SURNAME CONTAINS II
THEN CHANGE SURNAME DELETE SUFFIX II
And CHANGE SUFFIX PREPEND II

That way if there is already something in the Suffix field it won't be
deleted. You might want to have it put the II at the end then you would
APPEND on the last row.
JUST BE SURE TO USE LOG FIRST to make sure that you get the results you
want. It may not work with your dataset the way it worked with mine.

Subject: [TMG] TMG Utility 5 - Names

I have located several hundred names which have suffixes (II) in the
surname field. Sometimes the whole name including the suffix is in the
field, sometimes just the suffix.

Is the something in TMG Utility 5 which will help me deal with this?

Walt
