Well, Lee, my ancestors didn't come by ship directly to all places they ended
up, but they did come by ship to America or Canada. One of them landed with
his brother in Quebec, entered the US at White Hall (NY?), and continued on to
Mt. Holly, NJ. I assume that most of the journey from Canada to NJ was by
river, but I don't have that information. Interestingly, great grandfather Samuel
Kingdon entered the US 24 May 1832, exactly 100 years before my birth. Another
great grandfather came by ship to New York in 1834, but also continued on to
Mt. Holly, NJ. (I have a copy of the ship list that the 1834 ancestor came
on, but haven't located a list for the 1832 ancestor since Quebec at that time
didn't keep ship passenger lists. I may one day find a passenger list from the
start of the voyage in Plymouth, England, if I'm lucky.)
