Elizabeth,
You could always put the census year in the suffix field like
Carrie
Jones
-1860
Then it wouldn't print, but you could still see it in the name field
(this only works if you have show excluded which I do, but you could put
in the 1860 then select the name then exclude the 1860 and it would
still work)

The problem with that is if I have, say, three census name tags and one
Name-Nick tag for someone, and all four tags have the same name (if the
person was named Caroline but was always called Carrie). And maybe I
found Carrie in the 1900 census first, and then the 1870 census, then I
created the nickname tag once I realized I wanted to use that name in
other (non-census) tags and thus didn't want to use the census name
tags, and then I finally found her in the 1880 census. Now, three
months later, when I find another piece of information about her and
want to add her as a witness to her brother's marriage tag, and I want
to use just "Carrie" in the output, how am I supposed to know which
"Carrie" to choose from the drop-down list of names when I have no idea
what order I entered the name tags in all those months ago?

Whew, got that off my chest. Feel free to say that I should ditch the
concept of multiple name tags with the name in each being the same--I
just took it from Teresa as her reasons sounded quite valid for it. But

from recent messages, it sounds as if her name tags are now different
with all the stuff she's putting in the suffix fields (age recorded on
the census, for instance).

Thanks,
Elizabeth
