Give us some examples of these from official records. I agree that you
will find villages and hamlets in a township, but I don't think you will
find incorporated towns and cities being considered in a township.

And the example you gave in another message: Lanark Village, Lanark
Township, Lanark County, Ontario. I would not use Village in the place
name unless it was used as part of the name as in : French Village, ,
Halifax County, NS.

And if you want to record townships to clarify two village with the same
or similar names, you can put an exclusion marker: - in front of the
township name so it will not print.
