Bob,

My Dixon ancestors settled in Dixon Township (it was named after them),
Hamlin County, South Dakota. Their farm is immediately adjacent to the
incorporated town of Vienna, South Dakota - which is in Pleasant Township,
Clark County. All these townships are government land (homestead)
designations and they help me keep track of who was living where. Also,
they often correspond to the census enumeration districts, so they help me
search the census records.
