Thanks Theresa for both your messages.
Yes, I have tried reindexing but that didn't fix the problem. (I thought
also that optimise included reindexing but have separately reindexed.)
I don't think the default issue is the problem for me as I didn't
actually enter these incorrect repository tasks from the PV. Have
checked a few more individuals and what I have now is exactly the same
task "entered" three times for the same event. I certainly didn't do
that yesterday as I wasn't working in any PVs and my printout from early
this week doesn't have triplicated tasks for around 40 people.
I could go through all of the relevant PVs, deleting the tasks until for
each person I have just my one original task linked to the right
repository - but what I am worried about is why this happened in the
first place. I don't want to keep working on this if there is something
wrong with my database or the program.
Thanks for the advice re the List of Tasks. Was searching for a filter
beginning with "r"!

Ann,
Another thing I have noticed: If you are in the PV and create a new
research task and from that task create a new repository, it is not the
NEW repository, but the first repository that is selected in the list.
If you then say SELECT, you are adding #1 not #29 say to the task. That
may have been what messed you up. For some reason, your TMG is
defaulting to #2, where mine is defaulting to #1. At either rate, I wish
it would default to the newly created or last created one and not the
first.

Ann,
Have you tried to REINDEX. Sometimes that will fix things like that.
Yes you can print a list of tasks attached to a repository.
LIST OF TASKS
Filtered Group
LINKED REPOSITORY ID # ?
I use that one all the time.
