That may be worth considering. I wish I could do that with ID numbers. Problem with reference numbers is that they aren't really all that useful. You can't go directly to a person with a certain reference number, you can't see the reference number next to the name of each person on the screen like you can ID numbers, and you can't do many functions based on the reference number. Invariably you need the ID number to manage the database.
