Jane,
What I do if I want to keep notes on a certain family is create a
REPOSITORY for that surname. Then create RESEARCH tasks and use that
person and that REPOSITORY.
For example:
I want to keep up with information on the Gee line. Create a REPOSITORY
called Gee. Now I am in John Gee's PV and I realize that I need to make
myself a note about where was he during the war of 1812. I create a
task called War of 1812, and link both John Gee and the repository Gee
to the task.
Now when I need to see all the notes on the Gee family, I can just print
a list of tasks.
By the way, welcome back, and please keep these basic questions coming.
I like reading how others handle these situations too. We all learn
from them.

Subject: [TMG] One more question

I can see I am going to pepper the list with basic questions, if I am
not
careful. Here is the second one for the day. I will hold any others
till
another time.

I have read of those who create a dummy tag to serve as a repository of
information, conjecture, notes, etc. about a particular surname. My
question is, if I do this, what designation do I give the tag?
Unrelated?
If so, then it would appear that it would not be linked to the others in
the
family, or does that matter? Guidance here, if you please?

Jane S.
