The way around repetitive default sentences is to make several different
"roles" to represent a given Role in the event. This works best for the
Principal roles as the witnesses can refer back to [P1] (or [P1] <and [P2]>)
without needing a bunch conditionals to refer to all the possibilities. Thus
you could have for the birth tag:
Child-DL: [P] was born <[D]> <[L]>
Child-LD: [P] was born <[L]> <[D]>
Child-Flower: [P] came into the world <[D]> <[L}>
What would make this nicer is if a give Sentence variable could refer to
multiple roles at once like:
Midwife: [W] assisted in the birth of [R:Child-DL|Child-LD|Child-Flower]
(in this case [P] would work, but for other tags (especially in the other
group) you may want to vary the witness sentence based on the role of the
principal.
