Hi, Paul:
I have Roxio DirectCD ver. 5.10 loaded and running on my PC, which has a
CD-RW drive. Neither TMG 4.0d nor TMG 5.09 are the least bit successful in
backing up to a blank CD-R disc. It may be technically possible to prepare
a CD-R disc in a CD-RW drive (leaving it "open") so an application program
can write directly to it, but my impression is either that it is not
possible, or that it creates discs that cannot be read by anything but a
CD-RW drive. The geekish distinction is between UDF 1.5 and ISO 9660 formats.
I am *not* talking about backing up first to a hard drive, and then
dragging and dropping the resulting file to a CD. That is a different
situation entirely, and its success will depend on the hardware and
software that one has installed.
