Yes, but if inside the brackets you had other text, it would then have to be
repeated for each role. Also if you used it for a witness role (where there
could be multiples) <[R:role1]><[R:role2]><[R:role3]> would not put in
commas or "and" properly. While <[R:role1|role2|role3]> would(since it makes
a single list).
