I don't think I ever tried to restore from the CD-R
...didn't use it that long....have successfully
restored from CD-RW on several occasions on my
desktop and on my laptop....

Hi, Paul:

I would suspect that backing up to CD-RW would work
just fine. It is by nature a much more flexible
medium than CD-R is. I would also suspect that your
backups to CD-R may very well have been illusory
security for your data .... who knows?
